Car Window Tint in Charlotte, NC

Ceramic tint that keeps your car cooler, cuts the glare, and gives it a clean, finished look.

Keep Your Car Cool With Window Tint in Charlotte

Leave a car in a Charlotte parking lot in July and you come back to an oven. The steering wheel is too hot to touch, the seats burn, and the A/C runs full blast for ten minutes before the cabin feels normal. Window tint stops a big share of that heat before it ever gets inside.

Heat is only part of it. Tint cuts the glare from the low sun on your morning and evening commute, blocks the UV rays that fade and crack your dash and seats, and adds privacy so what's in your car stays your business.

We tint cars, trucks, and SUVs around Charlotte. You pick the shade and which windows, and we'll help you find the look and heat cut you want.

Getting the paint done too? Tint pairs well with a ceramic coating for a car that looks finished inside and out.

Benefits of Car Window Tint in Charlotte

Why most drivers who tint once never go back to clear glass.

Heat Rejection

Quality film blocks a large share of the sun's heat, so the cabin stays cooler and the A/C doesn't have to work as hard.

UV Protection

Tint blocks nearly all UV rays, which protects your skin on long drives and keeps the dash, leather, and trim from fading and cracking.

Less Glare

Cuts the glare from low sun and headlights so driving is easier on your eyes, especially on the commute.

Privacy and Security

Darker rear glass keeps bags, tools, and car seats out of sight, which makes your car a less tempting target.

A Clean, Finished Look

Tint ties the whole car together and gives it a sharp, uniform look from every angle.

Safer Glass

If a window breaks, the film helps hold the pieces together instead of spraying glass into the cabin.

Window Tint Options in Charlotte

Tint the whole car or just the windows that need it. Every option is quoted to your vehicle.

Full VehicleMost popular

All side windows and the rear glass, matched in one shade. The best option for heat and privacy.

Front Two Windows

Many SUVs and trucks come with dark glass in the back only. This matches the front windows to the rear.

Windshield

Clear or very light ceramic film that blocks heat and UV without hurting your view of the road.

Sun Strip

A tint band across the top of the windshield to cut sun glare when you're driving into the sun.

Sunroof

Tint for sunroofs and panoramic glass roofs, which let in a lot of heat.

Old Tint Removal

Peeling, bubbling, or purple tint stripped off and the glass cleaned before new film goes on.

Ceramic Window Tint vs. Regular Tint

Not all tint is the same. The type of film matters more than how dark it looks.

Ceramic Tint

  • Blocks much more heat without needing a darker shade
  • Blocks nearly all UV rays
  • Holds its color instead of fading purple
  • No metal, so phone, GPS, and radio signals work normally
  • Clear, true-color view from inside

Regular Dyed Tint

  • Mostly darkens the glass and blocks less heat
  • Fades and turns purple over time
  • Adhesive can break down and bubble in the heat
  • Cheaper up front, but often needs redoing
  • Has to go darker to get the same heat cut

Ceramic keeps your car cooler at any shade, whether you go light or limo. It's what we recommend for most cars in Charlotte.

Window Tint Shades and What the Percentages Mean

The number is how much light gets through the glass. The lower the number, the darker the tint.

Limo

Nearly blacked out from the outside. Darkest option.

5%

Dark

Strong privacy with a dark, sleek look.

20%

Medium

A clean, tinted look with good privacy.

35%

Light

A subtle tint that still cuts heat and glare.

50%

Very Light

Almost clear. Often used on windshields.

70%

Darker isn't always cooler. The film type decides how much heat gets blocked, so ceramic at any shade beats cheap film at a dark one.

Our Window Tint Installation Process

Clean glass and patience are the difference between tint that lasts and tint that peels.

  1. Clean and Prep

The glass gets deep cleaned inside and out, old film comes off if there is any, and the seals and edges are cleaned so dust doesn't get trapped.

  2. Measure and Cut

Film is cut to the exact shape of each window, with clean edges that sit tight to the glass.

  3. Heat-Shrink

Curved glass, like most rear windows, gets the film heat-shaped so it lays perfectly flat with no creases.

  4. Install

The film goes on the inside of the glass with a slip solution, then gets squeegeed to push out the water and air.

  5. Inspect

Every window is checked for bubbles, dust, and lifted edges before you get your keys back.

  6. Cure

Keep the windows up for 3 to 5 days. A little haze or a few water pockets is normal and clears as the film dries.

If you want prompt, courteous and phenomenal service this is the business to use. Tilden detailed my car inside and out and it looked as good if not better than the day I drove it off the lot. We were so impressed we had him wash and wax our camper. I can not say enough good things about his work as well as work ethic. You will not be disappointed!!!!! I plan on having Tilden detail my car again in the spring!

Window Tint FAQs

How long does window tint take?

A few hours for most cars. A full vehicle with old tint to strip off first can take most of the day. We'll give you a time estimate when you book.

When can I roll my windows down?

Give it 3 to 5 days. The film needs time to dry and bond to the glass, and rolling a window down too early can catch the edge and peel it.

What are the tint laws in North Carolina?

North Carolina sets limits on how dark the side and rear windows can be, and only a strip at the top of the windshield can be tinted. You can read the full rules in N.C. General Statute 20-127.

Can you tint my windshield?

Yes. We can do a tint strip across the top, or a clear or very light ceramic film on the whole windshield that cuts heat and UV without darkening your view.

Is tint installed on the inside or outside of the glass?

The inside. You might see the film laid on the outside of the glass while it's being cut and heat-shaped, but the finished tint always goes on the inside where it's protected.

Why does old tint bubble or turn purple?

That's usually cheaper dyed film breaking down. Years of sun fade the dye to purple, and heat wears out the adhesive until it bubbles and lifts. Ceramic film holds its color and stays put much longer.

Is ceramic tint worth it?

In Charlotte, usually yes. Ceramic blocks far more heat than regular tint at the same shade, so you get a cooler car without having to go darker.

Can you remove my old tint?

Yes. Peeling, bubbling, or faded film gets stripped and the glass cleaned before the new tint goes on. Rear windows take extra care so the defroster lines don't get damaged, so removal adds some time.

Will window tint mess with my phone or GPS signal?

Not ceramic tint. It has no metal in it, so phone, GPS, radio, and toll tag signals pass right through. Some metallic films can cause interference, which is one more reason we lean ceramic.

Should I just use a DIY tint kit?

You can, but it's harder than it looks. Curved rear glass, dust, and creases are tough to get right without practice, and a bad job usually means paying to have it stripped and redone.

What if my glass has a chip or crack?

Small chips usually aren't a problem, but tint won't fix them, and cracks can keep spreading. If the damage is in your windshield, get it repaired first.

Can I pair window tint with another service?

Yes, and bundling saves you money. Most people pair it with a Ceramic Coating, but it also goes well with Paint Correction, Full Interior Detail, Wash and Wax, and Headlight Restoration. Book two or more services together and we'll take some off the total.
